Before I started using Paula’s choice, I was out preaching the good news to friends who would call and ask for skincare advice. The minute I tried the BHA exfoliant, I wasted no time ordering a new set just so I don’t run out. These two products have been a game-changer to my routine and I’ll tell you why.
Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Exfoliant
The Paula’s Choice 2% BHA exfoliant is one toner that I’ve seen the most results with. My skin was an absolute nightmare with blackheads, texture and the occasional cluster of breakouts, however since incorporating this into my routine I’ve seen a significant number of changes in my overall skin.
The Paula’s Choice BHA exfoliant contains the highest percentage of BHA that can be sold for home use or over the counter. What this means is that you are getting top quality with the performance BHA adds to your skin.
BHA unclogs pores, smoothes out wrinkles, brightens and even out your skin tone. It works by removing dead skin cells which causes dull skin and traps dirt that clog your pores. By removing these dead skin, new skin cell generate and with the dead skin cells out of the way it gives room to remove dirt trapped in your pores. Which in turn gives brighter healthier skin.
If you suffer from acne this would be something you would want to consider adding to your routine.
As effective as it is, it’s still gentle enough to use both in the morning and night in your skincare routine. Note that if you have other active ingredients in your routine, you may want to be careful. Actives Ingredients not formulated with BHA can make your skin sensitive. However, BHAs work well with Niacinamide, vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid and AHA’s.
When using during the day it’s important to use a sunscreen with SPF 30 and above.
Paula’s Choice SkinPerfecting 25% AHA + 2% BHA
The 25% AHA + 2% BHA peel is a 10 minutes purple liquid-gel peel. AHA, which helps exfoliate, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and rough texture skin. While the BHA goes deeper into the pores to unclog, refine and soothe. This peel contains a wide range of acids, glycolic, Lactic, mandelic, malic and tartaric acid making it a sweet combination for tackling blackheads and acne.
I go in with this peel once a week as advised by Paula’s Choice followed by moisturiser and sunscreen. when using this skip exfoliating toner as using both can damage your skin barrier. Paula’s Choice recently launched in Sephora USA. Hopefully that should get to Canada soon but in the interim Paula’s Choice does ship to Canada when shopping directly from their site.
Have you tried any of these products if yes, share how they’ve been working for your. Check my previous blog post on affordable skincare products.
