Bedroom Dresser Decor, Amazing Tips To Designing Your Bedroom

I’ve gotten a lot of requests and suggestions on doing a house tour and though I’m not remotely close to getting the house where I would like to be, I thought it would be good to show little spaces in my home. One that has made several appearances in my youtube videos is my Bedroom Dresser. I have gotten a few questions on the different items and so I thought I would share my bedroom dresser decor and some tips on how and where to pick the right pieces

FIND A DRESSER THAT FITS YOUR STYLE

Modern, elegant and Minimal are the words to describe the colour white and when searching for a dresser. Ikea has a wide variety of white drawers. The Malm dresser is affordable and great for His/Hers clothes storage. Let me tell you!! assembling the dresser was a nightmare, but if you ever plan on getting it please use this video because it helped me. When searching for a dresser, it’s important to have a budget in mind and Ikea/ Wayfair most times seems to have a fair balance in price and design.

ADD TEXTURE TO YOUR DRESSER

When deciding on decorating your dresser, think of simple pieces that can go together. Group together little items, create layers and add complementing textures. I’m a huge lover of candles and the Wolf and Lamb Incense + Clove in black ( from HomeSense) ties perfectly with white. A plant is always a good addition and since these were small pieces, a placemat from the Ikea kitchen section tied them perfectly together. When looking for small items like candles HomeSense has a nice variety, check beyond the home section and explore kitchen items that can also be used as decor items.

FIND ACCENT PIECES

This accent piece is one of my favourite pieces, because I want a clean dresser at all times, having this piece allows me to put little items, like my keys in there without taking away from the aesthetics. This leaf tray is from the home section at Winners. When searching for unique accent pieces Thrift stores are also a good place to look.

ADD A VASE WITH FLOWER OR PAMPASS GRASS

This vase and pampas grass adds a really nice touch to the overall room. I can switch the plants based on my mood and season. The pampas grass, however, was a roadside pickup if you live in a place where they happen to grow. The vase was another casual stroll past Winners home section and this tied beautifully with the room. 

ADD A MIRROR

Most people would prefer to hang the mirror to the wall but I like how this rest on the dresser, let’s just say I am mildly obsessed with mirrors and this mirror was a good deal from Ikea. This also ties in nicely with everything and when decorating your bedroom dresser it’s nice to have large to small items. The mirror adds a nice balance to the dresser.
